The afternoon will feature music, renowned keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Adams, Jr., and a delicious community dinner! So bring your friends and family to the Tryon Fine Arts Center Pavilion (at the back of the building) and join in!
Meet the Speaker
Dr. Robert Adams, Jr.
Robert Adams Jr. is executive director of the Penn Center on Saint Helena Island, South Carolina. Founded as a school for the formerly enslaved in 1862, the Penn Center served as an important retreat site for Dr. King and other activists during the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Adams holds a PhD in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in sociology from the University of Florida.

This event is free and all are invited to partake in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Â Parking is available on the TFAC grounds, the street, and closest to the Pavilion in the Baptist Church Parking Lot or Lanier Library.
