Area High School Art Students Shine in Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Showcase of Excellence

Best in Show: “Collateral” by Victoria Udensi, Dorman High School. Instructor: Frances Vaughan
This juried fine arts competition offers young artists their first taste of a professional gallery environment and experience–from submitting work to jury selection to judging to exhibition.
Work is submitted by local high school teachers in North and South Carolina as well as qualified home schoolers. The artworks they enter are their students’ best work in painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, and photography/digital media. And it is impressive! Winning students and teachers receive cash awards.
The 2026 Showcase of Excellence Opening Reception is free and open to all.
Saturday, January 31 | 10:30 am to 12 pm | Jeanne Parker Gallery in the TFAC Pavilion | Exhibit is open for viewing through Saturday, February 28
