Painting in the Great Outdoors – A Tryon Fine Arts Center and Tryon Painters & Sculptors Plein Air Event

Come watch artists at work! TFAC and TPS are excited about this special collaboration featuring visual and performing arts. Igor Begelman performs in the TFAC Pavilion, and painters, at their easels, introduce onlookers to the beautiful process of Plein Air Painting.

Art & Music, a Match Made in Tryon

Tryon Fine Arts Center and Tryon Painters & Sculptors are teaming up to create an arts-filled afternoon of music and visual arts.

On Thursday, October 16 from 10 am to 2 pm, twelve talented plein air artists from Tryon Painters & Sculptors will set up their easels on the scenic TFAC grounds to capture the beauty of the gardens, pavilion, and mountain views. This extraordinary event is designed to foster artistic community, encourage public appreciation of the visual arts, and celebrate some of the area’s most gifted painters.

Guests are invited to explore the grounds and have the unique opportunity to observe artists at work, discuss creative techniques, and even purchase finished pieces directly from the creators. The plein air painters will be stationed throughout the TFAC property, offering a living showcase of plein air technique and the captivating landscapes of Tryon in peak color.

Meanwhile, at 12:30 pm in the Pavilion, renowned clarinetist, Igor Begelman with pianist, Lisa Won Jung Kiser, presents a talk and an engaging recital including various pieces spanning centuries and cultures. Recital Tickets are just $15, all inclusive. Spending time with the artists at work, of course, is free of charge.

So come before the show; stay after the show…everywhere you go, you’ll be moved—by a joyful splash of color and an uplifting musical motif!
