Curtis on Tour is the Nina von Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music. With a philosophy of learning-by-doing, emerging artists are joined by celebrated faculty and alumni to present performances at top international venues in cities including New York, Berlin, Hong Kong, and Santiago. Musicians also engage with local communities through educational and community activities.

Nicholas Canellakis, a gifted young cellist, will lead a program featuring the Dohnányi Sextet for Piano, Strings, and Winds. He and the Curtis students will open the program with duos by Robert Schumann and Johan Halvorsen and the lyrical Johannes Brahms Clarinet Trio. The program will conclude with Dohnányi’s Sextet.

Mr. Canellakis is known for moving seamlessly between traditional classical music and innovative and creative ventures. He has performed across the United States with recent appearances at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and Wolf Trap. He has recently been appointed to the cello faculty at Curtis Institute of Music.
