2nd Tuesdays of the month, Winter 2019
The popular series of lectures and discussion is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in winter of each year. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes. Great Courses features a series of DVDs augmented with discussions and local experts.
The 2018 program focused on music with a discussion of Solo Piano Works led by Beth Child.
Dr. Elizabeth Child holds a doctorate in performance from the Julliard School, a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree from Converse College. Well-known for her combination of dramatic intensity and intimate communication, Beth currently operates a piano studio in Tryon.
Coffee, hot teas, and pastries will be provided at the Great Courses. There is no cost for the series thanks to an anonymous sponsor. Seating is limited to 35 people, so attendees are asked to reserve their place in the series in advance.
