Tryon International Film Festival
TFAC, Tryon Depot & Tryon Theater
Friday, October 27-Sunday, October 29, 2017
The 2017 season introduces a new equestrian category dedicated to the health, preservation and well being of the horse, with the tagline “It’s all about the horse”. All genres of films, including documentaries, which respectfully highlight the beauty, health and welfare of the horse, will be considered.
Our recently added equestrian category seeks only those film that consider the health, well being, respect and honor of the horse.
In 2016, TRIFF expanded its categories of submissions from full-length feature films, shorts and documentaries to the highly impactful “Human Rights & Dignity (HRD)” performance category. The impact of this additional grouping resulted in an influx of films from 17 countries.
TRIFF17 will continue to build on HRD’s ever important form of messaging which touches all areas of the globe. Many of the most powerful films in this category vividly reach the viewer’s soul regardless of language translation.
Whether the film genre is drama, comedy or environmental, TRIFF17 will continue to encourage and promote woman filmmakers throughout the world, before, during and after each festival run. Many filmmakers from past festivals will be called back as judges, educators and industry supporters.
TRIFF17 will continue to invite local filmmakers to highlight their grassroots efforts, but staff operations will boldly continue to attract and recruit filmmakers, actors, and artists from the world stage, both within the indie-film sector, television, online, interactive, virtual and post-cinematic release.
