Arts Education & Outreach
Tryon Fine Arts Center focuses on supporting skills, innovation, creativity and learning through the arts for students and teachers offering the following programs to the Foothills Community.
– Pacolet Junior Appalachian Musicians (PacJAM) for students 6 – adult. Currently the PacJAM program is offered at satellite campus in Sunny View Elementary School.
– Summer Camps: including
Summer Arts Series for Youth (SASY)
PacJAM Camp for students and workshops for adult learners
Summer Theater Camp offered in partnership wtih Tryon Little Theater
In 2016, TFAC joined the South Carolina Team ’96 to become part of the Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a national organization committed to providing professional development in Arts Integrated learning for teachers. Currently TFAC is working with 2nd grade teachers in Polk County Schools to support learning in all students by incorporating arts integrated learning strategies.
